JacquelineJacqueline Fernandez (born 11 August 1985) is an Sri Lankan actress and model. In addition to her appearances in reality shows and music videos, she has also worked in Indian films predominantly in Hindi. Her debut was in the film industry with Aladin in 2009 She has since developed a career in the Hindi film industry. Fernandez was born and raised in Bahrain to an ethnically diverse Eurasian family of Sri Lankan, Canadian, and Malaysian origin. After graduating in mass communication from the University of Sydney and working as a reporter for a TV station in Sri Lanka, she joined the modeling business. She was crowned Miss Universe Sri Lanka in 2006 and represented Sri Lanka at Miss Universe 2006. Fernandez was the subject of an investigation related to a money laundering case that involved Rs200 crore from December 2021. Fernandez was detained by the Enforcement Directorate for 10 hours on December 9th, 2021. On 22 December ED denied Fernandez's request to lower the Lookout Circular (LOC) which was issued against her in the case that hinders her from traveling outside India
